A random capture playing with a slow shutter speed at the elainECurtis Charity Fashion Show 2008. All of the proceeds from the night went to Saplings Schools: Providing a unique education for children with Autism.

The focus in this shot is very soft because of the slow shutter and the lights but that’s why I like it. You’ll hopefully be able to see my actual promotional shots and fashion shots on the elainECurtis website very soon and you can read more about this shoot here on my blog.

Another new tattoo portrait, this time Shaun’s back-piece (based on a Derek Hess design), inked by Sean Boon of the Vibe Studio, Mullingar. Shot on a 50mm lens (cheers Ken) in natural light, once again using selective desaturation to bring out the red (hopefully no offence to Sean for distorting his awesome work, I’m just trying to get to grips with photoshop!)

You’ll hopefully be able to see more of Shaun’s & Sean’s tattoo’s here very soon and I’ve already done several other shoots since this one but not all of them will appear here on the site so keep your eyes on this and you can read about this shoot here on my blog.

Portal.jpg
Just one of my entries for the ‘Life at ITC’ photography competition, the Portal outside IT Carlow.

In the three years I’ve been in the college, the light inside the portal has never worked. This is as close as I’ve gotten to seeing some light shine through it. You can read more about the competition and my entries here on my blog.

UPDATE: I received 2nd Prize in the Competition.

As a test run for various upcoming projects, I’ve thrown together a studio to get some practice. The one draw-back being the lack of models. If anybody is interesting in getting some alternative portraits done then please let me know.

You can see more of these test shots here. And you can read more about this shoot and find out about modeling for me here on my blog.

UPDATE: I’m delighted to announce that I’ve made it through to the final for ‘Best Photo Blog’ at the Irish Blog Awards 2008.

One More Medicated Peaceful Moment.jpg
Another new one for the series, again manipulating the colour and saturation levels. The title is a lyric from A Perfect Circle’s song ‘Orestes‘ and I think it adds to what I was going for. Again I’d love to hear what people think about these shots.

I’m also delighted to announce that I’ve been nominated for ‘Best Photo Blog’ in the Irish Blog Awards 2008. We’ve also been nominated several times over at KilkennyMusic.com. You can read more about the nomination here on my KKM Staff Blog, which was also nominated for ‘Best Blog Post’.
